Frequently Asked Questions
Will I receive a proof before my labels are printed?
Yes. Every custom label order includes a digital proof for your review before production. If you’d like to see how your colors will look in print, you can request a printed proof. Printed proofs are especially helpful when color accuracy is critical, since screens and printed colors often appear differently.
What are the largest label sizes and color options you can print? Is white considered a printing color?
Sizes: Our maximum die-cut size is 13” wide by 24” long. Need something larger? Contact our team and we’ll recommend the best production method for your project.
Colors:
We offer 4 color CMKY plus PMS Spots plus White. White ink is treated as a printing color. It’s usually needed when printing on clear, metallic, or kraft materials to make your artwork pop. White isn’t printed on white or semi-gloss stocks since they already have a white base.
Is there a minimum order amount?
Yes — the minimum for most label runs is 250 labels. For smaller quantities, or for printable label sheets, we can help you explore short-run and sheeted options to fit your needs.
How will my label order ship? Will I get tracking information?
We ship most orders via UPS or FedEx, and larger runs are palletized and sent by freight carrier.
Shipping charges are not included unless noted on your quote. If you have your own UPS, FedEx, or freight account, we can ship on your account.
Once your order ships, you’ll receive an email with full tracking details so you can follow your shipment’s progress.
Will I be charged for dies or plates on reorders?
Not if nothing has changed! As long as your label size, artwork, and specs stay the same, there are no additional plate or setup charges on reorders.
You can reorder directly through your LabelSwift account dashboard or by contacting our customer service team.
How do I get an exact color match for my labels?
We can match exact colors using Pantone spot colors (PMS). Include your PMS color codes in your artwork, or send us a physical sample for reference.
If you’re unsure of your color, our prepress team can help you select the closest Pantone equivalent.
Do you offer specialty products or finishes not shown on this page?
Yes — we offer an extended range of specialty finishes, including:
Premium finishes
Spot UV, soft touch, or tactile UV
Leather and linen textures
If you don’t see what you need, just ask — our team can guide you to the right materials and finish combinations
What’s the best way to send my label artwork?
The fastest method is to upload your artwork through our Art Upload Tool after checkout.
We accept these preferred file formats:
Vector: .AI, .EPS, .PDF, .INDD
High-resolution images (300+ DPI): .JPG, .TIFF
Avoid using PNG or GIF files. If you’re unsure about your file type or resolution, our prepress team is happy to assist.
Should I add a UV coating or laminate to my labels?
Adding a finish improves both appearance and durability.
UV coating is a cured varnish that protects against moisture and scuffing. You can also choose spot UV to highlight specific areas for extra contrast.
Lamination adds a clear film over the entire label for maximum resistance to abrasion, chemicals, and weather.
Skip coatings if you prefer a natural texture (like kraft paper) or if you need a writable surface.
Our team can help you decide which finish best suits your product and environment.
How long does label production take?
Typical production time is 3–4 business days from artwork approval.
Orders requiring special materials or custom tooling may take 7–12 business days.
Most reorders print even faster — usually within 3–4 business days.
If you have a deadline, let us know when you place your order and we’ll work to meet your schedule.
