LabelSwift Material Guide

Choose the Perfect Material for Your Custom Labels

Your product label isn’t just a piece of paper—it’s your brand identity, your first impression, and your best chance to stand out on the shelf. At LabelSwift, we offer a curated selection of high-performance materials designed to cover every use case—from premium candle labels to moisture-proof food packaging.

Choosing the right material depends on a few key factors:

  • Durability & environment (moisture, oils, heat, refrigeration, squeezing)

  • Look & feel (premium, rustic, natural, glossy, matte, transparent)

  • Application method (hand-applied, automated application, small or curved containers)

  • Sustainability (eco-friendly, recycled content, uncoated papers)

Below is a simple guide to our most popular materials. If you need help choosing the best match for your product, our team is here to help.

BOPP Film Labels (Plastic Labels)

Our most durable, most versatile material for modern packaging

BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene) is the workhorse of the labeling world—and the most popular material we offer. It prints beautifully, resists moisture and abrasion, and holds up on nearly any container.

Perfect for:

  • Food & beverage

  • Health & beauty

  • Candles

  • Household & cleaning products

  • Products that get wet, squeezed, or handled often

Available in three finishes: white, clear, and metallic.

White BOPP (Permanent Adhesive)

Our go-to label for most products.

  • Bright white film for crisp, vibrant printing

  • Waterproof, oil-resistant, tear-resistant

  • Reliable adhesion on glass, plastic, metal, and more

If you’re unsure where to start—start here.

White BOPP (Tight-Mandrel Adhesive)

Designed for small or highly curved containers where regular adhesives struggle, such as:

  • Lip balm tubes

  • Test vials

  • Small dropper bottles

  • Wrap-around labels on narrow-diameter containers

Same look as regular white BOPP, but with extra “bite.”

White BOPP (Removable Adhesive)

Best for labels that need to peel away cleanly, including:

  • Retail stickers

  • Temporary promos

  • Reusable packaging

  • Smooth non-porous surfaces

Removes easier than standard permanent adhesives but still applies smoothly.

White BOPP (Clear PET Liner)

Same face material as our standard white BOPP, but with a PET film liner instead of a paper liner.

  • Ideal for high-speed or automated applicators

  • Stronger, smoother liner web

  • Required by some labeling machines

If your equipment specifies “PET liner only,” choose this option.

Clear BOPP (Permanent Adhesive)

For the iconic “no-label look.”

  • Transparent film disappears onto the container

  • The color of your bottle or product shows through

  • Ideal for cosmetics, beverages, natural products, and modern minimalist brands

We can also print white ink under selected areas for contrast and readability.

Eco-Friendly Paper Labels

Sustainable materials with a natural, handcrafted look

Our eco-friendly papers are ideal for brands that want an organic, artisan, or environmentally conscious presentation.

Great for:

  • Coffee & tea

  • Handmade soaps

  • Artisan foods

  • Small-batch candles

  • Natural beauty products

These materials bring warmth, texture, and authenticity to your packaging.

Kraft Paper Labels

100% Post-Consumer Waste (PCW) recycled.

  • Brown, uncoated, and tactile

  • Visible fiber flecks for a natural, rustic aesthetic

  • Ideal for handmade goods, earthy branding, and craft packaging

Perfect when you want your packaging to “feel handmade.”

Bright White Felt Paper

Premium eco-friendly paper with a subtle felt texture.

  • Contains 30% post-consumer waste

  • Clean bright white base

  • Soft, luxurious, lightly textured surface

  • Excellent ink reproduction for an artisan look without sacrificing clarity

A great choice for premium candles, specialty foods, and boutique personal-care products.

Premium Estate Papers

Textured, elegant papers for wine, spirits, specialty goods

Estate papers are uncoated, richly textured materials originally developed for wine labels. They deliver a boutique, upscale feel and pair well with simple typography, foil embellishments, and earthy or sophisticated branding.

Use Estate papers for:

  • Wine & craft beverages

  • Specialty foods

  • Boutique home goods

  • High-end beauty products

These materials are all about visual and tactile impact.

Cream Estate Paper

  • Soft, warm cream tone

  • Light texture for a handcrafted, old-world feel

  • Perfect for vintage or rustic branding

  • Best suited for dry and indoor environments

Works beautifully for wine bottles, gourmet items, and premium craft goods.

White Estate Paper

  • Bright white base

  • Fine, vellum-like texture

  • Clean, elegant, premium appearance

  • Great for minimal designs and modern branding

Choose this when you want a luxury look without the aged cream tone.
